The work usually breaks into three parts. First, making the property secure immediately - replacing damaged locks, or boarding up where a door or window is beyond an immediate fix. Immediately after a break-in

1. Don’t go in if there’s any doubt. If the intruder may still be inside, stay out and ring 112 or 999.
2. Report it to the Gardaí and get a report or PULSE number. Your insurer will ask for it.
3. Photograph everything before you tidy. The forced door, the damaged frame, the entry point, the disturbed rooms. Photos taken before repairs are worth more than any description afterwards.
4. Call us. Tell us what’s damaged and we’ll tell you whether it’s a lock replacement, a frame repair or a boarding-up job.

Common problems we solve

Forced or splintered door frames

Kicked-in doors rarely break the lock itself. They break the timber around the keep. Fitting a new lock into damaged timber achieves very little, so we repair the frame, fix into solid material with longer screws, and reinforce the strike plate.

Snapped cylinders

If the entry method was lock snapping, the door and frame may be untouched while the cylinder is in two pieces. This is the clearest possible signal to upgrade to an anti-snap cylinder, because the same attack takes seconds on any standard cylinder in the house.

Damage that can’t be locked tonight

A broken glazed panel, a shattered door or a window off its frame can’t be secured with a lock. We board it properly, screwed into sound material rather than tacked on, so it holds until a permanent repair is arranged.

Attempted entries that “look fine”

A lock that resisted an attack has often taken internal damage. It may work today and fail next month, leaving you locked out. We check the mechanism rather than assuming.

Insurance and documentation

Insurers generally want three things after a burglary: the Garda report number, evidence of the damage, and evidence that the property was properly re-secured with compliant hardware. We supply the third part - a written record of the locks fitted, the standards they meet, and the date of the work.
